I am an Australian Citizen travelling to the UAE on holiday; do I need an entry visa?

Holder of an Australian passport (ordinary / normal / personal) will be granted an entry visit/tourist permit visa upon the arrival in the UAE. No application in advance of travel is necessary. Please note that your passport will be stamped for 30 days upon arrival. If further stay is required an application for an extension should be made to the local General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs three days prior to the expiry date (chargeable services).

I am not an Australian Citizen but I live in Australia (temporarily or permanently), do I need an entry visa to travel to the UAE?

Nationals who hold ordinary passports and whose countries are not listed in the Embassy’s web site (www.uaeembassy.org.au – consular section – Visa) under the list of the 45 countries, can obtain Entry Visit Visa to enter UAE by being sponsored by a friend or relative who lives in UAE, a hotel, a company based in the UAE or by applying on line to Emirates or Etihad Airlines

Can I enter to the UAE with my stepchildren without their biological parent?

Yes you can if you manage to get a letter of consent or no objection which is legalized by the Embassy of UAE from the biological father and mother

What is the minimum validity period that I need to have in my passport?

At least six months from date of entry to the UAE.

What is legalization?

Legalization is a process of attesting / authenticating documents from the Embassy of UAE in order to be accepted by the competent authorities in the UAE.

What medication I am allowed to bring into the UAE?

All medications which are carried by passengers entering to UAE are subject to inspection by UAE Ministry of Health officer upon arrival. For further information, please refer to "Travelling with medications" on our website.

What are the business working hours in the UAE?

The Public sector works straight shift, most of it starts at 8:00am till 4:00pm, Sunday to Thursday with Friday and Saturday as weekend.
