 The Establishment of the Embassy United Arab Emirates in Vietnam

The United Arab Emirates decided to open an embassy in Vietnam in an effort to boost economic and political ties with the Southeast Asian country.

Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung announced on the occasion of  Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, first-ever visit to Vietnam from 3 to 5 September 2007.

The announcement follows talks between the two leaders to discuss ways of boosting of commercial relations in the public and private sector.

Accordingly, the UAE embassy in Vietnam was officially opened on 12/11/2008. Receiving the Ambassador for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ahmed Ali Hamad Al-Muala, President Triet said that the opening of the UAE embassy in Hanoi represents a new step in the development of the two countries’ relations.

The UAE Ambassador affirmed that Viet Nam possesses huge potential for the two sides to expand their cooperation activities in the fields of investment and labour.
